• What inspires your stories?

• How has your nursing background influenced your writing?

  My career in nursing introduced me to people from many different walks of life and strengthened my appreciation for human vulnerability and perseverance. Those observations have influenced my interest in writing emotionally complex characters who face difficult circumstances.

• Why do storms play such an important role in your books?

  Storms provide more than an atmospheric setting. I am fascinated by the contrast between powerful events happening around a person and the private struggles unfolding within. That connection gives me an opportunity to explore suspense on both an external and emotional level.
